Things to do when you can't sleep

What did I do when I couldn't fall back to sleep the other night?  I started going through my incredibly full email...yes, full of emails from retailers with 40% off, 50% off, "still time to get it in time for Christmas" messages that have been littering my inbox.  Being in marketing, these emails don't bother me at all, I'm very intrigued to see what other retailers are spamming (*gasp*) people with in a last ditch effort to drive sales. Bring it on, retailers!

Anyway, what really caught my eye from 5am-6am, when I wished I was sleeping, were some of the educational, insightful emails I subscribe to that have not been read by yours truly lately as I just haven't made reading them a priority lately (too busy, blah, blah, blah).  So, as I'm reading through them, I get inspired(!).  Wow, these are great articles!  I'd love to share these with people and get their perspective on the information and start collaborating great ideas.  I know! I'll start a BLOG to do this!!! How fun! Okay, now I can go to bed and in the morning, start this new blog, which is exactly what I did.

I figure out what to call my new blog, design a logo (using the term 'design' incredibly loosely here), write the first post, all of which I am very proud to say took me about an hour, which I think is pretty incredible.  I asked my husband to proof-read since let's face it, I never really cared for being overly grammatically correct, and he has two great pieces of feedback, one that I don't need an apostrophe after my 3, (it's 3s, not 3's... wow, he's so smart!) and his second piece of advice was this:

DONE is better than PERFECT. So true. Get.it.done. Put it out there. Like anything I've ever done, there is ALWAYS room for improvement.  A room-for-improvement-SOMETHING is better than a perfect-NOTHING.

Can I get an Amen?

PS - this doesn't mean don't do it correctly. It just means don't be consumed with perfection, it doesn't exist.
